Eucalyptus Gunnii

Eucalyptus Gunnii works beautifully in the Irish climate. It is a hardy, reliably fast growing plant which can be grown as a tree or hedge. While eucalyptus like many plants can be toxic to cats and dogs it is yet to be reported in horses according to BBC Gardeners world(1). One Irish growing Bog Lizard(2) Ireland has a huge amount of information about the Eucalyptus gunnii showing different stages & uses. While I have only been growing eucalyptus for just over a year I have never lost one plant. Even the ones who look lost always seem to come back. In ballycahane I am using the eucalyptus to repair the gaps in the white thorn hedge. I am also setting a small hedge around where I hope to put my greenhouse, in the hope I will be able to harvest these in years to come.
